This Policy creates a process for making City data available to the public using open standards, whenever possible. It incorporates best practices from other governmental entities around the country and is informed by input received from Imperial Beach residents, businesses, and key community stakeholders. This Policy does not modify the City’s record retention policies, schedules or requirements. Notwithstanding anything contained in this Policy, the City will continue to comply in all respects with the California Public Records Act (the “Act”). If there is a conflict between this Policy and the Act, or other applicable federal, state, or local laws, the City will act in accordance with applicable law.
The purpose of the City of Imperial Beach website is to advance the public’s health, safety, and welfare by providing information for and interacting with the citizens, businesses, and visitors of Imperial Beach. This includes promoting tourism and economic development within the City and region.
Adopted by the Imperial Beach City Council on May 5, 1999, by Resolution No. 99-5060, the stylized symbol accurately represents the community and is reflective of the City’s development process and is a visual representation of the Imperial Beach “Classic Southern California” theme.
Unauthorized use of the City of Imperial Beach logo is an infringement and is punishable under 18 U.S.C. § 2319. The City of Imperial Beach logo may only be included in/on all official City of Imperial Beach correspondence, marketing, and property. Unauthorized use of the logo (all or in part) may cause confusion, mistake, or deception about the user’s affiliation or connection with the City of Imperial Beach and is strictly prohibited.
The information posted on the City of Imperial Beach’s website includes hypertext links to information created and maintained by other public and/or private organizations. Imperial Beach provides these links solely for users of the City’s website information and convenience. When users select a link to an outside website, they are leaving the City of Imperial Beach website and are subject to the privacy and security policies of the owners/sponsors of the external. Should a link to an outside website be selected, an alert message box will appear stating “You are now leaving website.”
